Help us reach €2,000/month to secure a Bank Loan
Our vision is to establish a permanent Vipassana meditation centre in Ireland—a dedicated space for practising Dhamma, building on 28 years of courses held in rented venues, and serving generations to come.
This project is part of a much wider vision—one that has unfolded steadily over the past 50 years, as Vipassana centres have been established around the world. Each centre offers a space where the Dhamma can flourish, preserved in its purity for the benefit of all who seek it. With each new centre, more individuals have the opportunity to practise this universal path of sila, samadhi, and paññā, and in turn, to bring the fruits of their practice into their families, communities, and wider society.
The establishment of a permanent centre in Ireland is a natural step within this ongoing global unfolding of Dhamma, grounded in the same spirit of selfless service and gratitude that has supported centres everywhere.
We are focusing on acquiring a property that is ready to use or requires minimal renovation. This approach will enable us to:
Start running courses as soon as possible to generate income, cover operational costs, and begin repaying loans.
Keep the project manageable for a small team of volunteers
Avoid the financial strain of paying rent and a mortgage at the same time.
Minimise upfront costs and delays by selecting a property that can be used immediately. Gradual improvements will be made over time as resources allow.
We are also open to rent-to-buy opportunities if a suitable property becomes available. This approach would allow us to begin running courses while gradually securing the funds needed for full ownership, easing the financial burden of an upfront purchase. Get in touch if you have a connection with someone selling a suitable property.
We have considered the option of developing a purpose-built centre, but it would involve significantly higher costs and require a much larger team to manage the full development process. At this time, it is beyond our current resources in terms of finances and volunteers, though we would be open to reconsidering it if substantial funding became available.
