Help us reach €2,000/month to secure a Bank Loan
Irish Vipassana Trust is a registered charity. Our charity regulator number is 20100643.
Irish tax residents can increase the value of their donation by 45%, at no additional cost to themselves.
This applies to the total donations an individual makes in a calendar year.
It can include any combination of:
post-course donations
monthly donations
donations made via bank transfer
donations made via the website
Additionally, if a company donates €250 or more in a year, the company can claim a tax deduction as if the donation were a trading expense.
The government's Charitable Donation Scheme allows tax relief on qualifying donations made to approved charities. The rate of tax relief for charities is a blended rate of 31% for all donors, regardless of their actual tax rate.
The gross donation is calculated as 100% / (100% – 31%) = 144.93% of the net donation, meaning the tax relief works out to 44.93% of the net donation—approximately 45% of what you paid.
In 2023, we received €13,062 through tax relief, supporting the long-term establishment of a Vipassana centre in Ireland.
The CHY3 tax form enables the Irish Vipassana Trust to claim tax back for any year in which you donated €250 or more. It is at no additional expense to you. You are not eligible to receive the tax credits yourself, as they are only relevant to registered charities.
We have these forms available at the donations table after year course.
